Professional and grounded image symbolizing resilience and confidence—ideal for representing strong, empowered women who are reclaiming their voice through counseling

“You could keep surviving on autopilot, silencing your truth, and carrying childhood pain like it’s yours to bear alone — but if that was really working for you, you wouldn’t be here right now.”

A Little About Me…

Heyyy!!!  I’m Lacita (GloRilla fanatic j/k)….A licensed therapist, boundary enthusiast, and the heart behind Female Empowered Progressions.

I created this practice for women who are tired of pretending they’re okay when they’re barely holding it together. For the ones who overthink every text, cry in the car before work, or feel like they’re always the strong one with no space to fall apart. Sound familiar? I see you.

As a Black woman, I understand the unique pressures we face, whether it’s being expected to be resilient all the time, navigating complicated family dynamics, or trying to break generational cycles while still showing up for everybody else. My job? To hold space for you. The real you. The tired you. The healing you. The you that’s ready for change.

I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma (especially the kind that starts early in life and still showing up today), relationship wounds, and the invisible weight of people-pleasing. If you've ever struggled to say “no” without guilt or questioned your worth after heartbreak, we’ll probably get along just fine.

In session, you’ll get a mix of warmth, honesty, laughter, and a little bit of tough love when needed. I bring my full self to the work….no cold clinical vibes, just real talk, practical tools, and a lot of heart.

Workshops & Specialized Training

I also facilitate workshops for women navigating trauma and narcissistic abuse, providing education, validation, and practical tools for healing. These workshops are designed to help you understand emotional manipulation, rebuild your sense of self, and end toxic negative relationship cycles. Whether you’re freshly out of a toxic relationship or still unpacking those old wounds, these spaces are built with your healing in mind. I am also EMDR-trained and incorporate trauma-informed, evidence-based practices in our work.

Fun facts? I love good music, and I firmly believe healing doesn’t have to be boring. We’ll talk about some deep stuff, yes….but we might also laugh, cry, cuss (if that’s your vibe), and celebrate the small wins together.

If you’re ready to finally live life on your own terms, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Let’s get to work! :)
